My database goes back to about 1997. The goal was to be able to keep track of my collection and to easily look up specific cars.

The Car Log page gives you the fields to fill in as you desire.

• The Make field has several pre-loaded makes, but you can add any make as you go.
• The Collection Number field is what you want it to be, which could be a Lesney Models of Yesteryear, Y-1-1, for example. It could be the model code of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox, such as HVW22.
• The Scale field is preloaded with the most common scales, but again any scale can be entered.
• The Condition field has the definitions that I commonly use, Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent, Mint, and MOC (mint-on-card).
• The Country-of-Origin field is preloaded with the most common countries of manufacture.
• Lastly the bottom of the page shows you which record you are viewing out of the total number of records. This gives you a quick view of the total number of cars in your collection.

All fields can be filled in on the fly, but pre-loaded fields must be modified in one of the tables. A search of the database is done with one of the field selection queries; By Color, By Condition, By Make, etc.

Microsoft Access is included as part of Microsoft 365 Family or Personal, Microsoft 365 Apps for business, and Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscriptions. Access is a Windows application that runs on PCs only.
